Safety instructions
Before using your new product, please note the following points.
scented candles
- When lighting your candle for the first time, let it burn until the wax has melted to the rim of the container. Otherwise, a tunnel will form, and the candle will not burn evenly. This usually takes 1-2 hours. Ideally, let your candle burn for 2-4 hours at a time, but never longer than 4. Otherwise, the container could overheat and become damaged.
- Trim the wick to 5-7 mm before each lighting. This prevents the flame from becoming too large and starting to flicker and produce soot. You can do this either with wick scissors or simply with your finger. If the wick becomes too long during the burning process, extinguish the candle, let it cool, and then trim the wick. In the worst case, a flame that is too large can overheat and damage the container. Carefully straighten the wick so the wax melts evenly.
- Only use your candle on a flat and heat-resistant surface that is suitable for candles (e.g. ceramic, glass or stone).
- Make sure there are no flammable objects near the candle.
- Before lighting the candle, remove any wick and match residue, as well as dust and other debris. These could catch fire.
- Do not leave your candle burning unattended.
- Do not leave your candle alone with pets or children.
- Don't place your candle in a draft. This will prevent excessive soot buildup and uneven burning.
- Your candle shouldn't burn all the way down. Extinguish it when there's only 2 cm of wax left in the jar.
- Never extinguish the flame with water or any other liquid. Either use a candle snuffer or dip the wick into the wax and replace it. Make sure the candle is completely detached before leaving the room.
- After extinguishing your candle, ventilate the room thoroughly.
- There should be at least 10 cm of space between the candles to prevent the flame from flickering.
- Do not touch your candle while it is burning or the wax is still liquid. The wax and the container can become very hot.
- Remove the packaging before use.
