Raw Materials

For our candles and scented wax, we use exclusively olive wax, obtained from olives that have already been pressed for olive oil production. This wax is obtained by further processing the press residue, which enables resource-efficient and sustainable use. Olive wax is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional waxes. It is natural, renewable, and biodegradable, with a minimal ecological footprint. Furthermore, it is grown and produced in Europe, which reduces transport routes and thus the environmental impact. This makes olive wax a sustainable alternative to other waxes. It is also free of paraffins, phthalates, parabens, and toxic substances. The wax is vegan and not tested on animals.

We use only cotton wicks for our candles. These are either made in Italy from organic cotton or come from Germany and comply with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Our wicks burn cleanly and produce little smoke and soot.

Our packaging is simple and minimalistic to avoid unnecessary waste. From cardboard boxes and paper to labels and filling materials, everything is made from up to 100% recycled material and is manufactured in Europe. We also reuse received packaging whenever possible. So if you find a piece of plastic in your package, rest assured that we already received it in that state and will reuse it.

The lids for our scented candles and room fragrances are made from 100% natural cork. This cork is obtained by stripping the bark from the cork oak tree and is a renewable resource – without the need to cut down the tree. The cork originates from Portugal and is processed either there or in Germany.

For the reeds in our room fragrances, we deliberately chose an innovative fiber technology. This was for two reasons: 1) because our base is oil-based and not alcohol-based, natural reeds would clog too quickly and lose their fragrance; 2) natural fragrance reeds are mostly made of rattan, which comes from the Indonesian rainforest. This means no plants need to be harvested from the rainforest.
